There must be something about Genesee! When we first met this wonderful family, they lived on Genesee Street. Now they’re happily settled into a home in Genesee, WI.

Helping them find their perfect property was both a joy and a challenge. The joy came from getting to know this large, close-knit family and seeing firsthand what respect, teamwork, and putting the right priorities first truly looks like. The challenge was finding a property that checked all the boxes while staying within their budget. They dreamed of a place in the country with enough land for a large garden, a chicken coop, room for their dogs to run, and plenty of space to enjoy the outdoors.

After touring several properties together—often with the whole family in tow—N and R saw the potential in a fixer-upper that could become everything they envisioned. As soon as the closing papers were signed, they got to work. With the help of friends, church members, and all of their kids, they spent weeks scrubbing, painting, replacing, refinishing, and redecorating. The transformation was incredible.

But the most memorable part wasn’t the renovation itself—it was the teamwork behind it. Everyone pitched in, not because they expected anything in return, but because they genuinely enjoyed serving one another. At the end of each long day, they gathered around the table to share a meal together, reminding us that a house becomes a home through hard work, generosity, and the people who fill it with love.
